Dr.
Matthew Chase, Medical Director for Laurel Lake,
is among nation's best doctors
March
5, 2010 – Laurel Lake’s Medical Director, J. Matthew
Chase, M.D., is one of the Best Doctors in America® , according to a new
peer-to-peer survey published in the March issue of Cleveland Magazine.
The doctors were selected by other colleagues who are members of Best Doctors Inc., a company that has established a database of the most respected doctors in each of the specialties of medicine. In its annual survey, Best Doctors Inc. asked physicians, “If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them?"
The survey includes the names of 1.5 million doctors, but only the doctors who fall into the top 5 percent of the results are honored with the "Best Doctor" title.
A board-certified family practice physician with special interest in geriatrics, pediatrics and sports medicine, Dr. Chase became Medical Director of Laurel Lake in 2009 and is the primary care provider for residents who choose to take advantage of his professional services. He directs Laurel Lake’s health education programs, and oversees medical and quality assurance programs for temporary and long-term care services offered on campus. These services include therapy, home health care, assisted living in Greenwood, Alzheimer’s/dementia care in Rosewood and nursing services at Crown Center, where members receive professional and compassionate nursing care 24 hours a day.
Dr. Chase received his MD from Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM) and completed both his internship and residency at Summa Health Systems in Akron. He joined Primary Care Associates of Northeast Ohio in 2006 and sees patients in the Hudson office. He also serves as a clinical instructor in Family Medicine at NEOUCOM, and is a part-time faculty member at the Family Medicine Center at Summa Health Systems.
