CONTACT Much Ado About Mucha Explore the Art Nouveau movement August 25 ![]() August 3, 2011 -- On Thursday, August 25 at 7:00 PM, Laurel Lake will present a lecture on the life and works of Alphonse Mucha, presented by art historian Felicia Zavarella Stadelman. Born in Czechoslovakia, Alphonse Mucha's design aesthetic became synonymous with the Art Nouveau movement in France at the turn of the century. This painter and decorative artist's style graced paintings, illustrations, ads, postcards, jewelry, textiles and architecture. In this latest installment of her "Through the Eyes of the Artist" series, Felicia Zavarella Stadelman will reveal fascinating details about Mucha, using music, prints and images to tell the artist's story.
