Laurel Lake Encore Chorale now enrolling singers for 2010-2011 season
AUGUST 4, 2010 - Are you retired? What are you doing for an encore? The Laurel Lake Encore Chorale is now enrolling singers age 55 or older for the 2010/2011 season.

Join this large, enthusiastic group of more than fifty singers who meet weekly at Laurel Lake to explore their voices and learn challenging and fun choral repertoire under the direction of Donna Anderson. Encore Chorale sings three and four-part choral arrangements in a wide variety of musical styles, performing two major concerts each year.

This Holiday season, fourteen rehearsals starting Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. will culminate in a December concert with guest artists EnsemBelle Handbell Quartet and Dean Wagner, Native American flute. Featured will be Huron carols, Michael Isaacson's "Light" for Hannukah, Manhattan Transfer's arrangement of "Snowfall," and other traditional favorites.

Participation is free and open to the public. No auditions are required. Choir members may sit or stand for performances. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays at 3 p.m. at Laurel Lake Retirement Community, 200 Laurel Lake Drive in Hudson. The first rehearsal of the new season is September 14, but singers can join any time.
