CONTACT National environmental advocate Kath Schomaker to speak at Laurel Lake  August

at 3 p.m., Laurel Lake Retirement Community welcomes Kath Schomaker,
Associate Director of Outreach for Gray Is Green, a project of
the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC). The program is
open to the public and will be held at 200 Laurel Lake Dr. in Hudson.
Ms. Schomaker is touring retirement centers across the country to talk about what seniors are doing to protect the environment, mitigate global warming and conserve natural resources. Formerly the Director of Alumni Affairs at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Ms. Schomaker also served as a City Council member in the town of Hamden, CT. Gray Is Green/National Resources Defense Council is the leading environmental education and advocacy organization for older Americans. The NRDC works against urban sprawl, pollution and habitat destruction and promotes actions to mitigate global warming and increase the use of renewable energy.
