Landscape painting class at Laurel Lake
promises colorful summer

June 15, 2010 – Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson will offer an 8-week class, "Landscape Painting" with nationally known Ohio artist Elinore M. Korow, starting on Thursday, July 15 at 1 p.m. The course consists of eight 3-hour sessions. Cost: $200 for complete series, or inquire about individual sessions. Class size is limited. Interpreting the beauties of Nature, students will learn to paint landscapes while gaining a variety of techniques and principles. Learn how to paint the elements of land, sea and sky, create a composition and mix colors. Instruction will be individualized so it is appropriate for all levels of experience. Students may work in oils, acrylics, watercolors or pastels, and will have the opportunity to experience plein air painting.

Elinore M. Korow, a nationally known portrait artist, is a graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Art and a member of the CIA faculty. She was a designer for the American Greetings Corporation and has had her own portrait studio since 1973. She has been in numerous major national and international exhibitions including National Academy of Design, NY; Gran National at the World Trade Center, NY; Rocky Mountain National Water Media Show, Golden, CO; American Watercolor Society National Traveling Show, Washington DC. She is a past president of the Women's Art League of Akron and The Women's Art Club of Cleveland, a charter member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, a Signature member of the Akron Society of Artists and a member of the American Society of Portrait Artists.
