CONTACT 'Crosscurrents
of Science and Religion' is topic for Case Western Reserve University course September 8, 2011 -- Case Western Reserve University will offer a Fall course at Laurel Lake Retirement Community, "Crosscurrents of Science and Religion," Thursdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Sept. 22 to Nov. 10, at 200 Laurel Lake Drive in Hudson. Facilitated by Off-Campus Studies faculty
member Joe Konen, the program will use "The Faith Instinct: How
Religion Evolved and Why It Endures" by Nicholas Wade, and
"The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character and
Achievement" by David Brooks to explore the science of how and why
we make choices, and the evolutionary value of religion. Cost for the 8-week course is $70. The course’s two books can be ordered from Learned Owl Book Shop in Hudson at 330-653-2252.
